Rwandan War

A civilian who was hacked up and couldn't do anything to stop it, and had no one to help him.

Last Monday was the Rwandan War and yesterday was our peace conference. There will be another session on Monday because our first has been unsuccessful.

First off President Juvenal Habyarimana was murdered in his plane. We his predecessors have a few people on the inside that have been feeding us information, a mole if you will. We have found out that the M.R.N.D is the culprit, they shot down Juvenal's plane blaming the R.P.F. and Paul Kagame, so it could fuel hate between the Hutu's and Tutsi's to start an even bigger genocide. If their plan worked after the two sides crushed each other. The M.R.N.D would come out of their shell, kill the rest of the remaining Hutu and Tutsi's, and take an evil dictatorship over Rwanda as a new culture.

Off the record i was going to lunch and was talking with one of the M.R.N.D.'s leaders, i simply asked why they did this. But what i received was a death threat to me and my cohorts, she told me straight to my face she was going to kill me. This made this conspiracy a fact and helped me understand this hard truth. I do not understand the motive for taking over Rwanda when we had fine control, and trying to create racial hate. Though their are all these accusations and false statements about the late Juvenal, and how this is all his fault there are always 2 sides to a story and the M.R.N.D. is the problem. Did Juvenal know he would fund the most evil group of all time and was he their leader? Obviously not seeing as how he was killed by them in a plot to take over Rwanda. The United Nations were accomplices in not making this war end. Their resolutions failed seeing as how they entitled themselves to being able to kill and do what ever they want and defend themselves but they wouldn't defend the Rwandans or people stuck in the middle. Basically The UN can do what ever they want in Rwanda and the civilians needed to follow whatever they said. But overall it will take a lot of time to figure out conclusions seeing as how this all wasn't caused by one group. But the true groups we need to put on the spot and make peace with are the UN and the M.R.N.D. it is unfair what they did throughout this war and should be punished at the least.

The American Scholar.

Emerson's argument in "The American Scholar about American society, still holds true today.

When people's children have to go to the doctors, would they want a doctor who hates children? People would much rather have a doctor that has children so they know how kids act and they will have enough patience for them. It is only right that man should have the ability to multitask his life. People should not be scheduled to do one thing for society their whole life. We should value and enjoy our job more than work for money. Your job should not be who you are, you should define your life, not leave it to the cash. Also as a student I have learned even though I do not work or have a profession, the same thing is happening to people my age. For instance this project, kids are probably giving a half effort because they are finishing this the day it is due. So the title of student is what they are but they are not learning much or being creative about it, so they are just a student and not the Man Thinking. My peers and I need to learn but be creative and actually care about school so we are not just some kid going through school to get through.

Halloween- Growing up

It seems like yesterday when I used to set up decorations and buy costumes at the store. I was excited for months prior and I could never sleep the night before. It seems like it all faded away now.

Today is Halloween and I would rather do my homework then go out trick-or-treating.I'm not even very excited today. Maybe it is the hint of strep throat I got last night, when I just wore a t-shirt to the football game and had to walk home in the slushy rain. What ever it is it's not right for this time of year, it must be that i've grown up and I have other things to worry about. It really stinks knowing Halloween is not as fun as it used to because it used to be all I had to look forward to after summer ended.

Growing up really sucks, my brother and all his friends are getting older and I got no one around anymore to look up too. They were all the coolest guys too, Mike Corsi was a stocky kid who always talked to me like a little brother. He never had a little brother but he always helped me when i got in a fight with my brother or needed someone when i was sad. Mike Sonkiss mostly treated me like his friend. He wouldn't speak down to me because of my age and he wouldn't ever make fun of me. Jeff Kinsvater was really fun being around, though he never talked to me or acknowledged me as I said hi to him. He was a daredevil, he would do anything you told him. I saw him broke his collarbone a few times. His arms, legs, hips, hands, feet, legs any thing you can imagine hes broke it. I used to always go trick-or-treating them because they were not only my brothers friends but mine and I really will miss them. Though I do talk to them every once in a while its not the same.

Growing up never is fair, because everything you get when your young vanishes. It's all about the new path you make that shapes the later generations. The better it becomes for them, the longer the cycle goes on, and i think since I had such a great first 14 years I have to do the same for later generations and make life as good as possible for them.

I just wish life was as simple as everything used to be, back when I loved Halloween.

My New Friends.

This is Josh.

It was a warm morning out at the bus stop. My friend and I were talking about going back to school and we were drinking some JONES. He told me how the bus was going to be packed and we will have to sit next to the bus driver, we entered and there was very few, he was surprised, so we sat down and dozed off to sleep.

We arrived at the school, I was excited as can be, I walked to my new locker and tried the combination, it did not work so I tried it again and it worked. I walked off to my biology class because I did not want to be late. I walked in and looked at the seating chart. I was placed by someone I never met before so it seemed fun meeting new people.

Her name was Kyla and she was one of the nicest people I had ever met. She wasn't shy or mean, she was just Kyla. She almost looks like a beautiful princess from barbie, and shes pretty tall. Kyla is practically the best person to sit next to because shes not annoying (*Cough* I am *Cough*), so I pretty much just daydream about her all hour. So anyways we talked and then her friend came over. Her name was Allie and she was pretty too, she is also really nice. I sure do wish I came from their school, because i wanna wear a school uniform and they are all nice. They were looking over they're schedules and as I looked at Allies I noticed we had the first 4 classes together so we talked and i met her. She is very athletic and really out-going. A few hours went by and it came around to math class. I sat down and my old friends came in I talked with them then class started. I heard the attendance and the person behind me had the same last name as Allie, I asked her if they were related and she said ya, they were twins. Her name was Becca and once again a total bombshell, and shes got some awesome hair ( but I don't get why she doesn't think its cool, it is all big and curly). Becca is a really nice girl and she was fun to sit in front of in math because we would always talk when it was work time, but the teacher switched everyone's seats. It was hard to tell but they kinda had some same facial features and they were both very pretty. Also i just found out i have met them before, because my Mommy went to high school with her Dad. But Allie and Becca are really nice, and I am glad I met them.

Last but not least my boy Josh, I met him at a football game, he is basically the equivalent to John Stamos with that irresistible smile , Gandhi with that sense of peace, and Superman with his super strength.

This year is going to be awesome with all my new friends. It's really a fun experience meeting all these new people and So it was nice having new friends in my classes.

Sexes: Breaking the Barrier

After 3 Decades, Iran Names Female Cabinet Minister

Woman's Rights, New Zealand carved the starting path in 1718. The America’s followed in 1848, and Iran is finally breaking the mold in 2009.

Marzieh Vahid Dastgerdi was elected as the new Health Minister of Iran September 3rd of this year. Although this is common around the world for woman to hold power, Iran has not had a woman minister of any position in over 30 years. Most Iranians hold the belief that woman are inferior to men and they are embarrassed of them, compared to the United States that uses Woman for promoting lust in magazines like Playboy, it almost seems like fiction when we think of the reality of what is going on over in Iran and many other third world countries.

Muslim woman have to wear black clothes when they are outside but men can wear white, so its as if they are forced to suffer in the heats of the middle east. Though I have many skills in rhyming I also can see when there is something going wrong, and this is uncivilized sexist treatment.

Though this is a large problem in the middle east this unfair treatment of sex is also happening around the world in places like Japan, woman in Japan are exploited of their sex, brothels in Japan are very common, Geisha girls in Japan are born into being these prostitutes and have no other choice or they will be killed by their " Masters". A long time ago and still current day, men that "own" these woman for creating boys to carry on their name, would give woman strange shaped heels so their feet would mold to them and they couldn't run away. When I found out this was happening it sickened me.

In Sierra Leone the candidates running for president were harassing the female candidates and the male candidates spouses about they're sex. Where is their morality. I mean really, is that necessary. Plus it was not even surprising to the locals because woman are degraded in that country.

Sexual indifference will always be a problem to people around the world. Sexist men are pigs and they should not exist. What ever happened to the 1930's when all the movies were about treating woman well and trying to win them over by loving them and respecting them. Now movies are all based around babies mommas and degrading them socially and sexually.

It's hard to tell if it will ever go away in the world but as long as there are woman's rights actvists, then were half way there.

Capitalism : A Love Story

Capitalism: A Love Story.

Yesterday I saw the Michael Moore movie Capitalism: A Love Story. The movie cleared up everything I wondered about how the economy got so bad. If you wonder why too, I very much recommend you see it. Basically Michael Moores main point in this movie was that we need to move away from the capitalistic style of government and get back to a democracy. The buzz-words that capitalism is based around nowadays is “Greed” and “Immorality”.

Greed, the one word that defines so many corporations. To list a few, Bank of America, Wal-mart, Citibank, Goldman Sachs, Countrywide, and Fannie Mae, these corporation have become corrupt with power. The United States Congress was bullied by the head of the fed to pass a 700 billion dollar bailout plan that was constructed up over night, as a plan to make the rich richer. This was the ultimate plan for these large businesses because it allowed them to get stronger and to control the nations wealth. But 700 billion dollars is obviously not enough money for assorted companies that have no debt, because god forbid they don’t give their CEO’s millions of dollar bonus’s for Christmas.

Michael Moore interviewed a female widow who’s husband just died of cancer, she explained to him this left her in horrible debt, but the worst part about it was they’re insurance company took a random life insurance policy out on him before he died, ( named the “ Dead Peasant” policy for short) hoping he would die so they could reap tax dollars from the public off of his death and put it toward the company. They made over 5 million dollars over his life.

The 700 billion dollar bailout plan that was passed, was really a master plan to jump start the stock market and used as a derivative ( Gambling Equation) to feed the wealthy once again.

Immorality, the essence of greed. A word that describes one man’s quest for money and cheating the system, Judge Mark Ciavarella of the juvenile courts in Pennsylvania was disbarred for a scandal involving putting innocent kids that did “dumb things” behind bars in juvenile detention centers so he can get tax payers dollars to go to the court, to spend on him self. One of these “dumb things “ were smoking pot at a party and going to juvenile detention for 13 months. No one is saying its not bad to smoke pot, but 13 months behind bars is harsh.

There are many good messages to this movie and who ever reads this should look into seeing the movie for a better understanding of the government corruption and the true definition of Capitalism.

A Not So “Fresh”-Man Morning.

Courtesy of ibabuzz.com

Groggy and half asleep, I was awaken by my inconsiderate 19 year old brother as he arrived back from a party at five in the morning. Being an older brother he decided to turn the television on and kick back to some music on the couch. He could’ve listened to some alternative or maybe even rock music turned down low, but he felt in the mood to crank some death metal to the max. Since he was listening to a song called “I Bathe In Blood”. I couldn’t really fall back to sleep, “So I just said what the heck I gotta get up soon anyways.” So I put on a pot of coffee and I started my day as a Stevenson freshman.

After I showered and got cleaned up it was time for picking my clothes out for the day. I had some jeans laying on the floor from the previous day , so I picked them up and smelled them, they reminded me of when you leave mayo out and it curdles and gets sour. So I finally came to the conclusion that those pants were not too good of an idea.. I looked around my room and next to one of my many duck statues was a pair of jean shorts, they were freshly washed so I threw them on and found a sublime t shirt to match. I heard the doorbell ring so I ran to the door to let my good friend Aristides in. We hung out on the porch till the bus came because my house is literally the bus stop. There were ton of big kids on the bus so quickly I threw my hands in my pockets to look cool and I felt some paper so I grabbed it out, it was like winning the lottery, a ten dollar bill that was ready to be spent was hanging around in my pocket. So my first day of school began on a pretty good note.

"A" "B"oy "C"alled "D"an

A is for Art, which can be expressed in any way. Art is not only drawing or painting it is our knowledge and skill at the things around us and what we like to listen to. The Art I enjoy is the art of my musical taste and knowledge. I am not picky of what kind of music I enjoy listening to but I am picky if it’s good or not. I enjoy mostly Indie rock and Alternative, but I am open for some rap and modern rock. I take music as serious as a dancer’s shoes. It is what has molded my personality.

B is for Blue Bill, my favorite duck to shoot. Duck hunting my favorite hobby I have right now and will probably have for a very long time. When a flock of ducks come down from a mile high from the air into your decoys it is a sight that can only be expressed by seeing it live. The excitement I get seeing those black t-shaped figures cup into your decoys, is greater than words. The feelings I get when I shoot 2 down from a flock is amazing.

C is for Cleaning, after the long days of hunting are over the best part is the smell that you get when u cut open a ducks chest and smell the cavity. Though this sounds creepy and is very strange, you know that when you smell this you had a story to tell about the prior hours. Cleaning ducks is not that challenging of a thing to do. It just takes practice and sometimes a nose plug if you got a sensitive sense of smell, and what the heck; a hungry belly helps a little too.

D is for Dentist... My biggest fear. When I hear the word it makes my stomach grumble. The sound of the sharp metal tools that grind on my teeth. The horrible "BUZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ-ing" noise that the drills make, send shivers down my spine. Pain and agony are little words compared to the suffering I go through as they pick at my gum's. The thought of not getting a balloon and a sticker anymore cause you are too old. But after all the word cavity is the worst of all because it means your coming back, and its going to be even worse.

E is for Erie, my true home. The place i spend my leisure time as I enjoy the Autumn skies and colors. A place where I can forget everything and still remember everything. A true place of relaxation and a place I cannot live without. The Lake that I can use my skills on to get food. My Duck Lake.

F is for Fiddling, a skill I would very much enjoy learning. It has been my dream in life to have a fiddle. I always have thought this. But finally it is soon to come true. My passion for learning to fiddle is soon to be in reach. Just 3 to 5 days shipping and handling and it will be all mine.

G is for Gobstoppers, a candy that’s more than meets the eye. Unlike the Transformers this candy is edible and has a delicious grape outside of rock like texture, but with an inside so chewy it will make your brain melt with confusion. Gobstopper how I love thee, as I eat you after lunch in English class, you make me daydream.

H is for Henry, or another word for a demon. My cat henry was raised as a baby on the streets so he never did like people very much. Though he grew a liking to my immediate family, those who visit must beware. Innocent and plush he looks as you itch his back, but all apart of the plan to him. He will find his time to strike and once he does you may need an ambulance on hand. So get your phones ready and dial 9-1-1 before it is too late.

I is for Inoculation, flu season is on its way and we better get our shots early. But while people get 2 maybe 3 shots for the flu this year. I shall get 1. No swine flu shots for me please, as a kid I have seen too many movies that alter my perspective of reality. So I really don’t wanna try a new shot that has not been tested on humans yet. I am Legend and Resident Evil are enough evidence that I don’t wanna become a zombie so I will take a pass on the not human tested vaccines.

J is for James, my dearest brother. Many words come to mind when I think of my brother, including some not very nice ones, but all siblings get mad at each other sometimes. I will always love him though because he is all I got. He teaches me what is bad and good in life so he is kind of my mentor. It is really nice having a brother because I can learn from when he messes up too, but I guess all I can say is I love you Jimmy.

K is for Kettlecorn, a delicious treat and nickname. It is different from everything like it. It was once a buttery salty snack but felt like he needed a change, because he was different from all his relatives. He was the only true dessert made from his kind. So as a nick name if you call me Kettlecorn ill take it because I enjoy self expression and being different from everyone else, because I am my own person.

L is for Listening, my favorite trait. When I have conversations with people or just talk, I enjoy listening to people more than anything. I really do like hearing what people have to say about things and issues. If you just listen to things you can learn more about them then you would have ever thought.

M is for Mother, whom I love with all my heart. My mom is one of my favorite people to be around. I enjoy watching girls shows with her,(even though they are horrible and have no good acting like in Cast Away) and drinking tea and doing what ever I can to spend time with her because she is my Mommy and I love her more than anything.

N is for Nicotine, the addiction to cancer sticks. I have seen too many people die of lung cancer that it does not even surprise me anymore. Cigarettes to me are as bad as drugs, like heroin, marijuana, and cocaine because it kills just as many people. I am proud to say I have never tried one and I never will.

O is for Orange Juice, a pain to my heart. Once my favorite now my worst enemy. I cannot drink my favorite drink anymore because I drank too much of it. It is really horrible when acid reflux holds you back from drinking the most amazing fruit juice.

P is for Pretzels, a snack so amazing with Kream Mustard from Parmenters Cider Mill, you will be screaming for more, literally.

Q is for Quarters, the coin of champions. The one coin that you can do so much with, you can put it in a gum ball machine and get many different things and you can save them up and get tons of money.

R is for Rabbit Jambalaya. First we shoot ‘em, then we clean ‘em, then we eat ‘em. Nothing better on a cold winters day, then to feast your nose upon the heavenly aroma of Cajun sausage, fresh rabbit, and garden vegetables. All in a liquified delicious chunky soup form.

S is for Stevenson, a new experience for all. Another school year started off on a good note. Good friends, good teachers, good classes, great times.

T is for Tea, the bagged gift from the heavens. The taste of a hot Oolong is more than amazing, it is an amazing blend of mint and a special combination of herbs.

U is for University of Oxford, a possible candidate for my dream college.

V is for Venom, the grand prize winner in my favorite energy drink category.

W is for Water, the producer of my favorite frozen season.

X is for Xylography, the biggest word I know for a hobby so simple. The engraving of wood that I enjoy doing up north on my free time, when I am huddled around the camp fire gorging s’mores.

Y is for Young, an expression used to measure time. Though my age is young, my soul is as old as the earth.

Z is for Zombies, the one thing I enjoy killing on the internet. The internet has been training me for Z-day, it is coming, and I am ready.

Nathan Scott Phillips- My Three pets with one name.

Biology, my first hour, I had a feeling we were going to dissect something on the first day because the teacher wanted us to bring a container and a water bottle. Turns out we were going to meet our new pets.

It started off kind of strange when I started high school because it was all new to me. But my teachers were great and I knew I’d have fun. So I was sitting in first hour, the bell had just ringed; I was pondering what we were going to do today. I mean it was only the first day, I was thinking maybe a test but the teacher wouldn’t want to come off too strong. So I just kept it cool and waited for the teacher to start talking. She explained to us we were going to start the year off with a fun project,” Planarians!”, she shouted in an excited accent. I was thinking is it some kind of boring algae; turned out to be tiny little worms that live in the water and wriggle around. She paired us up with partners and we got our little guy. He almost looked like a piece of thick hair just hanging around moving like a snail in the water. I was thinking of a name until I came up with it, the most amazing name in existence, Nathan Scott Phillips. I was so excited that I got a new pet, I told all my friends in my next 5 hours.

The next day I walked in and she spoke, “Today is the fun part, cutting them into 3 pieces.” I did not want to kill him he was my friend. The teacher explained to us planarians can regenerate there body back and create new planarians. I was amazed by this. I couldn’t wait to cut the little worm up. I operated. It was a success, it grew back into three new ones.
